Collapse of the Mayans

Why did the Mayan’s collapse? Was there a drought? Did the gods get mad? Those are most popular theories. But, what my opinion of how they died is that they over farmed, and died out. After that had happened, the survivors would have been scared that there were no crops in Copan, and rushed over to the Yucatan Peninsula, and Chichen Itza. Here is proof: Anemia is caused by lack of nutrition.

See that sponginess at the back of the skull? Yeah. 80% of the people in Copan showed signs of this, which means that Copan was unable to provide the needed materials for them to survive. The Mayan's were probably very much

into harvesting and farming their crops, so it would be likely that they had over farmed. If you over farm an area, than it will get eroded and probably unutilizable

for crop growing any more. If all of that happened, they wouldn't be able go gather enough iron, protien, or other vital items to live. They would have died from anemia, just like 80 % of the population. The remaining 20% probably got frightened that they would meet the same end and fled to Chichen Itza. Here's proof of why they fled quickly: if they had done it gradually, they would have finished the alter they had been building for a noble king. But, they put a date on an unfinished side, and fled. All of this proves that my idea might have happened.
